Frymaster 3000 Controller Error Codes & Messages

Below is a full break down of fryer codes and error message that appear on Frymaster units with 3000 Controller computers.

Code E01

  • Error message – REMOVE DISCARD (Right)
  • What does it mean? – The code displays when cooked food that starts on the right portion of a split or full vat has a different setpoint from the current vat temperature.

Code E02

  • Error message – REMOVE DISCARD (Left)
  • What does it mean? – The code displays when cooked food that starts on the left portion of a split or full vat has a different setpoint from the current vat temperature.

Code E03

  • Error message – ERROR TEMP PROBE FAILURE
  • What does it mean? – This appears if the temperature probe reading is out of range.

Code E04

  • Error message – HI 2 BAD
  • What does it mean? – This appears if the high limit reading is out of range.

Code E05

  • Error message – HOT HI 1
  • What does it mean? – The code indicates that the high limit temperature is more than 410 degrees Fahrenheit (210 degrees Celsius). In CE countries, it triggers when it’s more than 394 degrees Fahrenheit (202 degrees Celsius).

Code E06

  • Error message – HEATING FAILURE
  • What does it mean? – This displays when the controller, interface board, contactor, open high limit or another component in the high limit circuit fails.

  • Error message – ERROR MIB SOFTWARE
  • What does it mean? – The error code appears when there is an internal MIB software error.

  • What does it mean? – The error code appears when there is an internal MIB software error.

Code E09

  • Error message – ERROR PUMP NOT FILLING
  • What does it mean? – This displays if a filter pad is dirty and needs to be changed or the filter pump is not working properly.

  • Error message – ERROR DRAIN VALVE NOT OPEN
  • What does it mean? – The code appears when the drain valve attempted to open and confirmation is missing.

Code E11

  • Error message – ERROR DRAIN VALVE NOT CLOSED
  • What does it mean? – The code appears when the drain valve attempted to close and confirmation is missing.

Code E12

  • Error message – ERROR RETURN VALVE NOT OPEN
  • What does it mean? – The code appears when the return valve attempted to open and confirmation is missing.

Code E13

  • Error message – ERROR RETURN VALVE NOT CLOSED
  • What does it mean? – The code appears when the return valve attempted to close and confirmation is missing.

Code E14

  • Error message – ERROR AIF BOARD
  • What does it mean? – This error code shows when the MIB indicates the AIF is missing or AIF board has failed.

Code E15

  • Error message – ERROR MIB BOARD
  • What does it mean? – This indicates that cooking controller finds that MIB connection are lost or there the entire MIB board has failed.

Code E16

  • Error message – ERROR AIF PROBE
  • What does it mean? – The error code appears if the AIF RTD reading is out of range.

Code E17

  • Error message – ERROR ATO PROBE
  • What does it mean? – The error code appears if the ATO RTD reading is out of range.

Code E19

  • Error message – M3000 CAN TX FULL
  • What does it mean? – This shows if the connection between computers is lost. If a computer displays only M3000 software, the computer may be defective.

Code E20

  • Error message – INVALID CODE LOCATION
  • What does it mean? – The code displays if the SD card was removed during an update.

Code E21

  • Error messages – CHANGE FILTER PAPER or FILTER PAD PROCEDURE ERROR
  • What does it mean? – The error code appears with the first message when the filter pad needs to be changed. It displays with the second message if the 25-hour timer expired or dirty filter logic kicks on. Change the filter pad and follow the corresponding prompts on the fryer.

Code E22

  • Error message – OIL IN PAN ERROR
  • What does it mean? – This shows if oil is present in the filter pan or the MIB has rest the “oil-in-pan” flag.

Code E23

  • Error message – CLOGGED DRAIN (gas models only)
  • What does it mean? – The code appears if the fryer vat didn’t empty during filtration process.

Code E24

  • Error message – AIF BOARD OIB FAILED (gas models only)
  • What does it mean? – This displays if the oil back sensor failed.

Code E25

  • Error message – RECOVERY FAULT
  • What does it mean? – The error code shows when recovery time exceeded the maximum time limit (1:40 for electric, 2:25 for gas).

Code E26

  • Error message – RECOVERY FAULT CALL SERVICE
  • What does it mean? – This appears if the recovery time exceeded the maximum limit for two or more cycles. Contact an authorized service technician immediately to resolve the issue.

Code E27

  • Error message 1 – LOW TEMP ALARM
  • What does it mean? – The code displays if the oil temperature has dropped below the setpoint in idle mode by 30 degrees Fahrenheit (17 degrees Celsius) or below the setpoint in cook mode by 45 degrees Fahrenheit (25 degrees Celsius).
  • Error message 2 – HIGH TEMP ALARM
  • What does it mean? – The code displays if the oil temperature has risen by 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4.4 degrees Celsius). If temperature continues rising, the high limit feature will shut off the burner when temperature hits 425 degrees Fahrenheit (218 degrees Celsius) or 395 degrees Fahrenheit (202 degrees Celsius) on CE fryers.

Frymaster CM III.5 Error Codes, Boil Out & Recovery Time

The CM III.5 can be affected by electrical storms or fluctuations in electric current. If your computer isn’t functioning properly, try to reset it by unplugging it and plugging it back in.

Fryer Codes

  • PROB – The Frymaster PROB code means the fryer has a failed temperature probe or a failed controller. Either way, you will have to call Frymaster.
  • HOT – If you see this error, turn the fryer off immediately and call Frymaster. This warning indicates a frypot temperature above 410F. It is very likely the oil in the vat has been ruined from this high temperature.
  • HELP – The Frymaster HELP code will display if there’s a heating problem with your fryer. Be sure to turn the fryer off and contact Frymaster.
  • CALL TECH – This means the memory chip or its support circuit has failed, and, you guessed it, you need to call Frymaster.

Boil Out

If you’re just looking for a code to initiate the boil out feature, read on. But first, make sure you know the procedure. Frymaster has created a series of helpful videos to walk you through the boil out process, whether you have a unit that will automatically begin or an older unit that has a specific temperature setting for boil out. Of course, it is also advisable that you have a copy of your Frymaster manual to make sure you have the correct procedure before you begin.

Recovery Time

The recovery time is the amount of time your fryer takes to increase the temperature from 275 to 325 degrees Fahrenheit after product is added (which lowers the temperature in the fryer). This number is automatically monitored by the Frymaster CM III.5 computers to help you determine whether your fryer is heating efficiently. To view the recovery time of your fryer, press the Program Mode button (the one with the checkmark) and “CODE” should appear. Enter the code 1652, and the recovery time will appear for 5 seconds.
