Bosch tumble dryer error codes explain common problems and point you in the right direction of where any operating issues may be. They simply give you an idea of where to start looking for the fault, even if you can’t fix it yourself.

Bosch tumble dryer error code E01/E02

These Bosch dryer error codes mean that the fluff filter of your dryer has become blocked with lint or with residues from the fabric softener. The exhaust hose will also need to be inspected for obstructions or kinks, as will the exterior vent duct system.

Bosch tumble dryer error code E03

This code is indicating that the maximum drying time of 4 hours has been exceeded. This could be a possible problem with the heating element and any defective heating components will need to be replaced. Depending on the model of your appliance Bosch tumble dryer error code E13 may display to show the drying time has been exceeded.

Error code E03 on some Bosch tumble dryers can point to issues with blockages or kinks in the condensation drainage hose. This is resolved by loosening the hose clip on the syphon and removing the drainage hose for cleaning.

Bosch tumble dryer error code E06

Error code E06 displays when there’s a fault with the heating circuit which needs an experienced engineer to fix it. Electromagnetic switches, known as relays, operated by a small electric current are normally controlled by the circuit board and occasionally the contacts in the relay burn and will need expertly replacing.

Bosch tumble dryer error code E11

This is an overheating issue caused by an obstructed exhaust air path. Depending on your appliance model this may also display as Bosch tumble dryer error code E12. The exhaust connects to the ductwork inside your wall through aluminium or metal pipes which create a path from your dryer to an opening on the outside wall. The hot air travels along the pipes so if there’s any blockage it will affect your tumble dryers ability to function properly.

Bosch tumble dryer error code E17

This is a detection of the lint screen temperature sensor error which may be due to a loose or damaged wire harness. If this isn’t the case the lint screen temperature sensor itself will need replacing. The lint screen is essential to catch fibres that may obstruct the dryer vent hose.

Bosch tumble dryer error code E18

The heater temperature sensor may need replacing if this error code displays. The wire harness connections may need tightening, or the wire harness replaced if damaged in any way.

The sensor itself consists of a resistor contained in a metallic capsule, and its resistance decreases as the temperature increases. The electronic circuit reads the varying resistance and when it falls below a certain level the heater unit switches off. If this component isn’t working properly your tumble dryer will fail.

These error codes all indicate an issue with a defective control module. It can be reset in some cases, but if the error code returns when the power is turned back on the control module will need repairing or replacing.

Other faults with the electronics may cause the following error codes to display: E08, E09, E28, and E90.
