Thias error code may signify four things

  1. Magnetron tube failure
  2. Faulty high Voltage Inverter board
  3. Faulty control board
  4. Poor or loose wiring

Warning: inverters use and produce potentially lethal voltages. Please, do not try to repair it yourself unless you are a professional technician!

If you see the h97 fault code, be ready to face an inverter board problem.

Most likely, there is an issue in the high voltage inverter board or Magnetron DPC board. There could be a connection problem between these two boards. Please, check all wires and connections and make sure there are no loose ones.

Inverter board failures are often caused by the Magnetron failing. In this case, both elements need to be replaced.

This can be pretty frustrating, because the whole thing will cost you $200 or so, and you won’t do without professional help. Please, do not try to fix high-voltage elements on your own! Not unlikely, buying a new microwave will cost you less.

The error codes that appear on the display help you locate the failed microwave oven element. You can eliminate some of the causes yourself, using the tips from the table below. Complicated breakdowns require a call to a service center.
