Victory Refrigerator Troubleshooting Solutions
This guide is for reach-in refrigerator and freezer models.
Cabinet Won’t Run
If the cabinet of the refrigeration isn’t running, check for the following:
- Tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse – Reset the circuit breaker, or have the fuse replaced by an authorized technician.
- Unplugged unit – Plug the power cord back in.
- Main power switch is off – Turn power switch into the ON position.
- Improper voltage to cabinet – This occurs if the voltage doesn’t match Data-Plate. This can occur if you’re using an extension cord or other equipment is attached on the circuit. Correct this by plugging the machine directly into an outlet without other equipment.
- High thermostat setting – Change the thermostat setting to a lower temperature.
- Cabinet in defrost cycle (freezer models only) – Let the unit finish its defrost cycle. It will run appropriately after that.
Condensing Unit Runs for a Long Period or Continuously
If the condensing unit on the refrigerator or freezer is running for long periods of time or continuously, look for the issues below:
- Too much warm product in the cabinet – Let the product inside cool down after adequate time.
- No product in the cabinet – Load the cabinet with your product.
- Door is open too long or ajar – See if the door is closed when it’s not in use. Make sure the door isn’t opened for too long.
- Door gasket isn’t properly sealed – Check if the door gasket is incorrectly positioned or worn out. Make sure to adjust the gasket appropriately, or have it replaced by an authorized service technician.
- Dirty condenser coil – Clean the condenser coil following the appropriate instructions in your operator’s manual.
- Condensing unit has improper airflow or the evaporator coil is blocked with ice – The unit should have adequate air space and not be crammed near other equipment. Relocate it away from heat-generating equipment, direct sunlight or air conditioning or heat ducts.
- Evaporator coil is blocked with ice – Turn the unit off and let the coil defrost. Make sure the thermostat setting isn’t too cold and the door gasket is sealed correctly.
Cabinet Temperature is Too High
If the refrigerator or freezer cabinet temperature is too high, check for these potential issues:
- High thermostat setting – Change the thermostat setting to a lower temperature.
- Cabinet has poor air circulation – Rearrange your product in the unit to let it circulate air properly.
- Too much warm product in the cabinet – Let the product inside cool down after adequate time.
