It’s important to find out the cause of this reduction in performance before taking steps to correct it. Save time and solve the issue more quickly by consulting our useful guide to the most common causes.

Why Electric Shaver Doesn’t Shave Properly?

THE SHAVER HEAD IS DIRTY OR DAMAGED

Regularly cleaning and maintaining your shaver will ensure it continues to perform at an optimal level. To clean the head of your shaver, first ensure the appliance is unplugged from the mains and switched off. Submerge the shaving head in a bowl of warm soapy water for a few seconds. Dislodge any bits of dead skin, shaving foam, gel, hair, etc., by gently working away at the blades with a nailbrush. If any hairs remain stuck, disassemble the shaving head and clean each blade separately using a jet of warm water. Leave your shaver to dry at room temperature and wait till it’s completely dry before plugging it in again.

THE BLADES ARE WORN

The blades need to be changed more often than the shaving head as they come into direct contact with the skin and can quickly become worn. Using worn blades can affect the quality of the shave produced and increase the risk of cuts.

3-DAY STUBBLE MODE HAS BEEN SELECTED

More recent electric shavers are often equipped with a feature that allows you to control the closeness of the shave to achieve different kinds of look. If you want a close shave, ensure the shaver is adjusted to the correct cutting length.
